These pieces were written between April and June of 2017 as part of a weekly composition project and uploaded to SoundCloud. I'm officially releasing them here to celebrate a personal milestone - minus one or two tracks which are absent due to personal/licensing reasons.
This collection was never really meant to be released as a set - the pieces are slightly roughshod, fuzzy around the edges, unfocused in a way which my usual work is not. In retrospect I think that gives them a cohesive identity of their own.
Diverse moods in the music from happy, to sad, to mysterious, intense danger, and some that are very good at conjuring an image of a 19th century frontier town. This album has a little bit of everything, but each track is a high quality, beautiful representative of its respective genre. If you listened to The 11th Hour story, you’ll realize how well the music brings the story and setting together. I also get a sense, when I listen to Griffin’s music, that we’ve both been inspired by a lot of the same nerdy pop culture in our youth (video games, anime, 8-bit and 16-bit music, etc.). I hope he continues to release music in the future, I’ll buy all of his albums. You’re my Mort Garson, Griffin. Joshua Jones
